How to read an AI visibility comparison
A side-by-side comparison answers one practical question: if someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Gemini about your category, whose page is better positioned to be the one the assistant quotes? Both URLs run through the same audit — fetched the way an AI crawler fetches them, with no JavaScript — so the scores are directly comparable rather than two unrelated reports.
Start with the overall score, then look at where the points were lost. A high score with a few warnings usually means the fundamentals are right and only polish is missing. A low score driven by critical issues — blocked AI bots in robots.txt, content that only appears after JavaScript runs, a missing title, or a CDN returning 403 to crawlers — means the page is effectively invisible to AI assistants no matter how good the writing is. Those are the gaps worth closing first, because they gate everything else.
Then compare the issue lists. If a competitor outscores you, the difference is almost always concrete and fixable: schema.org JSON-LD they have and you do not, an llms.txt that curates their best pages, faster server responses, or cleaner heading structure.
