FAQ
Are we competitive or complementary?
Complementary, mostly. We make sure AI agents can actually find and parse your site (crawler + content layer). Profound measures whether AI agents end up citing you across many queries (the analytics layer downstream). A typical enterprise customer with budget runs both — but most teams should start with us, fix the foundations, then layer Profound on once they have measurable AI traffic.
Why is Profound so much more expensive?
Different product, different cost structure. Profound runs thousands of real queries per customer through ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, etc. every day — that has substantial inference cost per account. They also sell into enterprise procurement with implementation services. Our audits are on-demand, cost-amortized differently, and we sell self-serve from $5/mo.
Does AI Visibility Checker track citations?
Not as our primary product. Our focus is the technical layer — robots.txt, llms.txt, schema, headers, rendering, Cloudflare detection, per-agent severity tagging. We may add lightweight citation tracking eventually, but it would not replace a dedicated analytics platform like Profound.
Which tool should an SEO agency choose?
Almost certainly us, for two reasons: (1) self-serve and per-client reporting fits an agency workflow, (2) recommendations are technical fixes the agency can actually ship to clients — not analytics the client has to interpret. Profound is built for the in-house enterprise marketing team, not the agency operating on dozens of accounts.
